Generations Can Reconnect While Camping
We love seeing multi-generational families getting together for a few days of fun at an Arizona RV resort or campground. It’s a time for catching up and even moving forward by creating family memories that enrich each member of the clan.
Kids love camping and enjoy being able to run, jump, swim, and play outside. They will run their little legs off during the day and sleep like angels at night. Pack extra snacks, though, because they will be burning through the calories and you’ll find them asking for a snack pretty much continually. They also enjoy getting time with parents and grandparents while they are camping. There is lots to learn and a surprising amount of things they can teach their elders.
Parents can get some one-on-one time with their kids and their own parents. Camping days offer more time without distractions. There is more quiet time and more simple time with the people they care most about. Conversations about the future and memories of the past can increase the bond between the generations.
Grandparents have the opportunity to learn more about their grandchildren and catch up with their own kids. It’s a good time to teach the grands about the things kids used to do back in the day. Teach them how to read a compass or how to find constellations in the night sky. Show them how to pop corn over the campfire and how to make grilled cheese. In turn, they can teach you how to use features on your phone that you weren’t even aware of.
Mainly, camping offers families time to share their history and build a stronger future. Kids will say the darndest things and it can be quite entertaining to spend time with them. Years later you will find yourselves looking over past camping photos with a smile and will be so glad you had those trips together.
We look forward to seeing you around the campfire soon. Be sure to check out our member RV parks and campgrounds for a great place to get together.
