ORANGEWOOD SHADOWS RV RESORT WINS “PARK OF THE YEAR” AWARD FROM THE ARIZONA ASSOCIATION OF RV PARKS AND CAMPGROUNDS
MESA, Ariz., May 20,2019 — For the third time in five years, Orangewood Shadows RV Resort has won the “Park of the Year” award in the large park category from the Arizona Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
The award, which Orangewood Shadows also won in 2017 and 2015, is given annually to parks that deliver extraordinary guest experiences as a result of all-around excellence in operations, professionalism, marketing, customer service and industry involvement.
“We are so happy to receive this award again,” said Teresa Buettner, general manager of the 474-site, family owned, 55-and-over park, which features approximately 800 orange, grapefruit and lemon trees, whose fruit guests are welcome to pick.
Catering to RV and park model RV owners, Orangewood Shadows is a highly rated park, earning a score of 10 on the AAA ratings system and a 9.5 from the Good Sam Club.
The park has made numerous improvements in recent years and is currently resurfacing its streets and putting in new water connections. Plans are also underway to redo the park’s restrooms. The latest improvements are expected to be completed before the arrival of the snowbirds in the fall.
Buettner said the improvements have resulted in increased business. “We have quite a few snowbirds who have already made reservations for next winter,” she said.
The park also has 15 park model RV rentals, which tend to book up rather quickly.
The Arizona Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds is the trade association for campgrounds, RV parks and resorts in Arizona. Arizona ARVC hosts a travel planning website at www.GoCampingInArizona.com and publishes the Arizona RV and Camping Guide, which won the State Directory of the Year Award from the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (ARVC). The 32-page color guide features more than 90 campgrounds, RV parks and resorts across the Grand Canyon State. Consumers can request the guide by emailing arizonaarvc@aol.com.
