BLACK ROCK RV VILLAGE WINS “PARK OF THE YEAR” AWARD FROM THE ARIZONA ASSOCIATION OF RV PARKS AND CAMPGROUNDS

Brenda, Ariz., June 12, 2017 – Black Rock RV Village has one a “Park of the Year” award in the large park category from the Arizona Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.

The award is given annually to parks that deliver extraordinary guest experiences as a result of all-around excellence in operations, professionalism, marketing, customer service and industry involvement.

“We are very excited to receive this award,” said Lisa Wong, who manages the 408-site park, which is about two hours west of Phoenix.

She said the park is already working on its activity program for next winter, which will likely included guided ATV rides as well as cooking demonstrations by the park’s chef. The park also plans to offer outside seating this fall at its 150-seat restaurant.

Last winter, Black Rock RV Village distinguished itself by offering lots of unique activities for women. In addition to offering quilting and sewing, the park offers “Desert Golf” during the winter and spring.

“It’s not what you think,” Wong said. “We have a natural course in the open desert with 18 holes!”

And, at 9am every Friday morning during the winter and spring, several women who spend the winter at the resort get together to brush up on their putting skills, while viewing the sights and sounds of the desert under clear skies and pleasant temperatures.

Black Rock RV Village also offers a “women’s only” exercise program Monday through Thursday during the snowbird season that targets women’s needs and on the  last Friday of the month there is ladies only luncheon celebrating women, their accomplishments and birthdays.

Other snowbird season activities at the park for men and women include card games, such as Desert Rummy, exercise classes, bean bag baseball as well as potlucks, ice cream socials, jam sessions, Dauber Bingo and other social events.
