Orangewood Shadows RV Resort Wins “Park of the Year” Award from the Arizona Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds

Mesa, Ariz., June 12, 2017 – Orangewood Shadows RV Resort has won a “Park of the Year” award in the large park category from the Arizona Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.

The award is given annually to parks that deliver extraordinary guest expereinces as a result of all-around excellence in operations, professionalism, marketing, customer service and industry involvement.

“We were thrilled to receive this award,” said Teresa Buettner, general manager of the 474-site, family owned, 55 and over park, which features approximately 800 orange, grapefruit and lemon trees, whose fruit guests are welcome to pick.

Catering to RV and park model RV owners, Orangewood Shadows is a highly rated park, earning a score of 10 on the AAA ratings system and a 9.5 from Good Sam Club.

The park has made numerous improvements last year and more are planned for this summer so that they are completed before the arrival of the snowbirds in the fall.

“Last summer, we did a lot of cleaning up and beautification work throughout the park,” Buettner said. “We also remodeled several rooms. We updated our exercise room with new flooring. We installed new cabinets and flooring in our office complex and painted the computer room. We also put in artificial turf in front of the clubhouse.”

This summer, Buettner said, the park will be milling down and re-asphalting about a third of the roads in the resort in addition to repainting the exteriors of buildings throughout the park.

Buettner said the improvements are translating into increased business. “We have quiet a few snowbirds who have already made reservations for next winter,” she said.

The park also has 15 park model RV rentals, which tend to book up rather quickly.
